It covers some programmes that have benefited from generous gifts to the Self Denial Appeal in years gone by. This year’s series highlights The Salvation Army’s work in Kenya and Papua New Guinea. It encourages us to consider the blessings we have from God and how we can use those to bless other people. She is married to Darrel and they have a son, Scout, and another son on the way.The theme for the Self Denial Appeal 2023 is ‘A Gift from the Heart’. She is the founding editor of a website created to connect and resource girls ministers, moms, and youth workers engaged in the girls ministry conversation. She has been serving in this role for 14 years and still can’t believe this is what she gets to do for a job! Over the course of 8 sessions, girls will examine five attributes of holiness that shape our identity. Speaking directly to the hearts of girls, Authentic Love: Christ, Culture, and the Pursuit of Purity exposes culture’s distorted messages about purity and love and reveals how God has created us for a lifestyle of personal holiness. We become consumers in a culture that tells us we can have whatever we want whenever we want it. ![]() Every day we are invited into a world where we can create, customize, and even change our identity.
